Goodbye dieting!
Many years ago, I think it was 1992, I was about 28 years old. I waited tables while going to college. My boss who still owns a very popular restaurant near me said something to me that really got my attention. He is the kind of person who says what he thinks but he is also the kind of person who is hard not to like. Tall, friendly, successful and handsome. One day as he was walking behind me and I was going to get food for one of my tables he said, “every time I look at you your butt is getting bigger and bigger.” I really don’t know what I said back to him if I said anything at all but I was seriously mortified and I will never forget it as long as I live! The very next day I started Weight Watchers. I lost 20 pounds in two months. I was very strict during the week and strayed a bit on the weekends but was still careful. I think I was probably a size 16 when he said this to me.
Laurie is trying to make me see that a diet is not the way to go. I totally agree. If it was how come I lose the weight every time I go on a diet and then eventually gain it back.
I am trying to take things one day at a time. Some days are better than others. I tend to be the Queen of Dread but do a pretty good job of snapping myself out of it. Not fair to my happy children, husband or myself!
